So... where should I start and who should I be? thoughts?

It depends what you want to do Michael; as an impure, the world is your oyster. Do you want to be a good guy? A bad guy? Neutral? Fighter, wanderer? All of these things matter. What were you hoping to achieve with your character and I will tell you the best way to proceed.

Well I was thinking sort of an independent scout person maybe? I was thinking some guy with a sword who runs around doing awesome stuff (I really suck at translating ideas in my head onto the computer. So sort of like a ninja except less assasin and more scout? if that makes any sense at all. but mostly good in general but not always

Well you can be a mercenary scout. A good place for you to start would be in Washington DC or the city of fallen Angels. My suggestion would be to get a few solo posts in the area, and then private message one of the Rpers in the area so that you can get some interaction going.
